By getting a medical check-up and personalized advice (with your full history taken and a specific individualized report for areas that you’ll be traveling to), you can reduce the risk of illness when you travel overseas.
For protection against diseases that you may encounter, vaccinations may be a necessity, for routine health measures or even legally for entry into some countries.
Make sure you plan your vaccinations in advance, as some may require a course over weeks to months. Ideally, we recommend that your initial appointment should be at least six to eight weeks before departure. We also carry the full complement of travel vaccines, so you should be able to start your vaccination program in that first initial visit.

If possible, it is important to come and see us 4-6 weeks prior to departure as the immunizations take a couple of weeks to be effective and some require multiple doses.

Whilst individual requirements may vary the standard adult schedules for typical immunizations are as follows (accelerated, slightly less effective, courses in brackets)

Hepatitis A: Initial dose, followed by a booster at 6 to 12 months
Hepatitis B: Initial dose, the second and third doses administered at 1 and 6 months after the first dose
Typhoid: 4 tablets over a week, booster every 5 years
Polio: Single booster dose 10 yearly
Tetanus & Diphtheria: Single booster 10 yearly
Rabies: 0,7 & 28 (21) days, 2 yearly booster or blood test
Japanese Encephalitis: 0 & 28 days (0,7,14 days 1-3 months)
Yellow Fever: Single dose 10 yearly
Meningitis ACWY (Hajj meningitis vaccine): Single dose 3-8 yearly (depends on vaccine)
